Trust Day - 21st March 2008:
Fridays 2-0 win against local rivals Macclesfield Town was also designated as Stockport County Supporters Trust Day!
There was plenty going on before the match and during half-time but unfortunatley, some of the plans had to be shelved due to the poor weather.
The Trust Base was erected in the Cheadle End prior to kick off for fans to come and speak to the Trust Board members, join or rewnew their membership and pick up new members packs for those that have recently joined.
Unfotunatley a particularly strong gust of wind took hold of the gazebo and with it being teathered down irreparably damaged a number of the joints that keep the gazebo upright! Trust Board member Alan Walkinshaw was able to hang onto the gazebo during the gust stopping it from entering the field of play and wiping out half of the County squad during their warm up.
Trust board members were still on hand to speak to people as well as handing out free Stockport County Trust pens and copys of TrustTalk.
The release of 1000 blue and white balloons also had to be postponed to a later date due to the strong winds.
During half-time, the cross bar challenge was taken by four County fans and a Macc fan dressed up as a wizard. Although 'The Wizard' was able to hit the cross bar in front of the Cheadle End, he couldn't work his magic on his team who lost 2-0. Two County fans, David Eade and Gregg Shillito also managed to hit the cross bar from the 'D' of the 18 yard box but unfotunatley the two remaining County fans only managed to hit the back of the net or the fans in LT3!
Two lucky members of the Trust and their guests were treated to the full VIP hospitality treatment before and during the match. Their names were randomly drawn from the Trust membership database earlier in the week.
