Trust Secretary Martin White informs us about the upcoming AGM.
A few words of introduction; my name is Martin White, and I am Trust Secretary. I was elected onto the Trust Board at the last AGM and already it feels like I've been involved for a lot longer than it actually has been! There is always work to be getting on with. Throughout the summer there have been regular Trust meetings to attend, ideas to progress, and, from a secretary experience so far, there involves a reasonable amount of fairly tedious, yet essential, things. Examples of the role are taking meeting minutes, chasing up various Trust Board members to make sure that they have completed any actions, and filling in numerous forms. One of the more interesting roles that the Secretary performs is setting up the Trust AGM, and that's what I want to run through now as formal notification of the process.
The Trust AGM will be held on Monday 29th October, at Edgeley Park, with a 7.30pm start. As part of this process, we have elections to stand for the Trust Board. This year, there will be two places available. We always need people to stand for election - it is a vital part in keeping fresh new faces and ideas and provides greater accountability to the members.
If you wish to stand for election, we need to gather your election address. This can be up to 250 words long, and if you provide it, we will add in your email address/contact number separately so that members can contact you with any questions directly. You can also add a photo of yourself if you wish, though this is optional. The candidates standing for election will then have their comments collated and posted out to all Trust members to vote on.
You can email your intention to stand for election to secretary@stockportcountytrust.com
or post it. Please address to: Stockport County Trust Secretary, Stockport County Trust, Edgeley Park, Hardcastle Road, Stockport, CHESHIRE, SK3 9DD. Please provide a contact number/email so I can contact you to confirm I havereceived your election address.
The closing date for election addresses MUST be submitted by is Friday 31st August. I will then collate all the information, and details of the AGM, ballot papers and proposals/items on the agenda will be posted out via letter to all members around the Shrewsbury (h) weekend - with the election itself starting on the 10th September and running for four weeks until Friday 5th October.
All of the above information will be made available in the local press, websites and hopefully, via the radio in the coming weeks - we are very keen to make sure that everyone has the opportunity to stand for election, and enthusiasm counts for as much as experience!
Full details of the election process and timescales can be found on our website: www.stockportcountytrust.com
Enjoy the game today, with a special welcome to Dagenham & Redbridge from all at the Trust.
