Stockport County Supporters Trust
"One day all football clubs will wish they were like Stockport County"
Programme Notes v Rochdale
11th March 2008

Martin White gives us an update on Trust activity.

Welcome back to Edgeley Park for another big game against local rivals Rochdale. Activity around the club at the moment is certainly ramping up as we enter the final stages of the season. The efforts of the players and staff have seen an upturn in league position, and off the pitch, the Pixel scheme to secure the deposit for the ground is still in full flow. With mentions in most of the national press, Soccer AM and fans from other clubs all chipping in, it’s heart warming stuff seeing the responses – thanks to everyone who has contributed.

The response to the Club’s Pixel scheme and the groundswell of momentum shows what fans can do to help when they have a purpose and motivation – the comments received via feedback have also provided some great ideas. We know that lots of fans are trying to get as many people involved is a great thing indeed, keep up the good work.

As a Trust, we’re always after creative ideas of how to improve and also raise money that benefits County, so if you’ve got an idea you want to share, please make sure you let us know. The more ideas the better, and as always, the more members the better – the Trust works because of the quality assistance from all fans who always are prepared to go the extra mile when it counts.

Looking forward, we have a Trust Day coming up for the Macclesfield game, where we should hopefully get to meet a delegation from the Macclesfield Trust who are doing a sponsored walk up to Edgeley Park for the game. We have a good relationship with Macclesfield, they’ve helped us to make sure the elections are independent for example, and we’ll be sure to make them feel welcome and share a few drinks with them after the game regardless of the result. Well, as long as the infamous 6-0 doesn’t get mentioned too many times obviously !

With the Bradford game still fresh in the memory, and a slightly sore head on Sunday morning from the celebrations of a cracking win, let’s hope for another enjoyable game and performance from County tonight – enjoy the match.
