Stockport County Supporters Trust
"One day all football clubs will wish they were like Stockport County"
Programme Notes v Darlington
5th April 2008

David Hoyle brings us the latest Trust news.

True Blue

Everyone at Stockport County, whether a Trust member, supporter, staff member or player is getting excited as the season comes to a climax with the County well placed in the playoff promotion stakes.

We were all sad to see Ashley Williams leave us but we were delighted that he got first international cap for Wales and we wish him the greatest of good luck on his move to Swansea.

David Hoyle from the Trust was pleased to present Ashley with our best wishes and a bottle of champagne after his final County appearance - the 2-0 victory against Cheshire rivals Macclesfield Town.
The club management see Ashley as typical of the excellent young professional footballers that are the basis and future of Stockport County.

As a Trust owned club, we don't have an Abramhovich to fund the purchase of international stars, so we see the continuity of cautious, professional development of all aspects of the business as essential.

As our players develop and are watched and wanted by other clubs, some will inevitably go, but it will always be for long-term benefit of Stockport County.
Steady progress, professionalism and the long-term future of Stockport County is what we aspire to both for the club and for Stockport County Supporters Trust.
