May I first of all thank everyone for giving me the opportunity to
assist the Stockport County Trust, supporters and everyone connected
with the club to revitalise and restore it to it's rightful position.
I have supported Stockport County since my father first took me to a match as an "ankle biter" in 1960. For those who don't know me (I appreciate that will be the majority ) I will give a few brief details. I'm a (youthful!!!) 52 years old with two children and a "grown-up son", very kind to children and small furry animals.I was brought (dragged) up and educated in Stockport.
My background is in telecommmunications, firstly in the UK with BT and Shell before helping Sauditel develop the external network in Saudi Arabia. On return to the UK along with two colleagues we created a company which became a major contractor to BT with a work force of over 400 and a turnover of in excess of £25 million before being sold to Skanska Networks. We then used the vehicle fleet to create a successful vehicle leasing company which has generated significant profits in it's short history.
Enough about me, I'm sure what you really want to know is that using the skills that I and the other board members have acquired throughout our careers, along with the passion we possess we will provide assistance (when requested by the management team) and additionally will take any fundemental decisions that are required for the future well being of the club.
I realise (without stating the obvious) that things at the moment are not as we would wish them to be, but it is essential that the we strive for financial stability, we are well on the way to achieving this, but will only achieve it with your help. We have to firstly consolidate and then increase our income streams. A major source of income is corporate sponsorship and hospitality and everyone can help by encouraging their organisation to support the football club wherever possible.
The lottery is extremely successful but will be even more so with your support.
Success on the pitch makes all these tasks easier, and wherever financially prudent, we will support Chris Turner in the strengthening of the playing squad.
Our goal is to achieve a successful, sustainable championship club by 2010. It may seem distant at the moment but it is attainable and with your support we will achieve it.
Regards
Stuart Cree
