Movement of Shares
November 2006

Following recent requests and discussions regarding the shareholding of Stockport County the club has come to a decision with regard to the movement of individual shares.

The Trust owns 98% of shares, and could in effect force individual share holders to sell back the other 2%. However the Trust and the Club recognise that these shares are in the hands of some of the most loyal and longest established Stockport County fans, it would be insulting for the Club to demand their return.

However the club does believe that it should call a halt to any further share transactions on the basis that it sees no reason why supporters in possession of shares should want them to pass into the hands of anyone else. Clearly however if any shareholders wished to gift their shares back to the ownership of the club – namely its supporters, this would be more than welcome.

We hope that the disappointment of any individual in not being able to secure shares will be offset by the fact that they can become a certificated shareholder by joining the Trust!
