The board of Stockport County and the Trust are delighted to announce that they have reached agreement with Jim Gannon on the terms of a new contract.

In keeping with our long term plans for the club the one year rolling contract, which covers an intitial three year period is targeted at rewarding success and loyalty linking Jim to the progression of Stockport County on and off the pitch. It is a fresh approach to contracting the manager which identifies Jim as a key part in developing County as a Community Club, and which rewards his achievements so far as well as the contribution Jim and Peter are bound to make over the coming years.

Make no mistake about it, Stockport County under Trust ownership have firm plans in place which will see significant changes and improvements over the coming months and which will see us build on the momentum that has been created and Jim is an integral part of that process.

We would like to place on record our thanks to Jim and Peter for the outstanding, bordering on miraculous achievements of the last six months, but both they and we understand that the hard work really starts now. With Jim on board, with a professional and strategic plan in place we are confident that we can begin to do the amazing supporters of Stockport County justice, and deliver the rewards that their incredible loyalty deserves.
