The Trust board has previously explained its position on promotional and media activities on numerous occasions but to ensure clarity of understanding the following we hope will assist those still unsure or confused.

The Trust board liaises with the press and media on a daily basis and we are indeed fortunate to have allies at GMR / Imagine / Manchester Evening News / Press Association and the Stockport Express.

Sadly the media cannot and will not continually publish Trust issues unless they are specifically news worthy, and we have considered that paying for advertising brings little reward and is not value for money.

The considered best option for Trust publicity, promotion and membership increase is the proactive response by each and every trust member!

It is extremely encouraging that the supporters of Stockport County are joining the Trust in increasing numbers. As at 31st March we have 542 members.

Trust information is permanently available on the Trust website, a membership form can easily be printed off.

The Trust is NOT a supporters club. However, it works closely with all supporters groups and appreciates their assistance in publicising and recruiting.

The Trust is "transparent" relating to its activities, with the obvious current exception of certain matters relating to the ownership bid, however should any member consider that matters or activities which the Trust board is involved with are not to their satisfaction then we should be most grateful if they would offer their questions and suggestions to allow for a direct and personal response.

The Trust board is continually looking to its membership relating to any positive input.

If any member has suggestions then we always want to listen, it is imperative that frustration does not create complaint.

The Trust boards message to all members is "please, go out there and promote the Trust. Recruit more members! Don't talk about it, don't sit there and wait ... JUST DO IT!"

The onus to recruit does not lie with the eight Trust Board members but with all 542 of us. The membership form can be downloaded from this web site.
