Latest Updates @ Manor Farm:

Huge step forward:
23 January 2009

After a visit down to the Manor Farm training ground earlier today I was really impressed with the amount of work that has been done to the main house. It looks completely different than the last visit in December!

The main house has been split into two with the entrance that joined the buildings together being bricked up. This offers much greater flexibility for the use of the buildings.

All the exterior doors and windows have been replaced by brand new uPVC windows and doors and as mentioned earlier this week the roof has been completely refitted meaning the house is watertight.

Whilst we were there, the plasterers were finishing off plastering the first of the two houses and will be starting on the second one very soon. The electrics are in on the first house and the first fit electrics will begin on the second house next week whilst the plumber is in the first house putting in the new heating system.

A new kitchen (plus more) has been very kindly donated to us by Howdens and will be fitted in the not too distant future.

The upstairs of the first house has also been split to provide more rooms and also had the addition of male and female bathrooms that will be required should it be decided that the building will be used as offices.

In the main stable block that houses the teams, work has been ongoing since the last visit and you can see as soon as you walk in that it looks much brighter and more habitable for the management and players.

There is still quite a bit of work that needs to be done but with the hard work and dedication of people like Graham Noden, John Fitzpatrick and the team of volunteers that have been helping out, Manor Farm would not be moving towards becoming a training ground to be very proud of.

The Trust and Stockport County would like to thank all those that have been working at Manor Farm to get us to this point - thank-you, you're help is truely appreciated.

Stockport County Trust are very pleased to announce that during the ongoing works at Manor Farm negotiations have been taking place to agree an extension of the deadline to get the work completed.

Lates Updates and Pictures:
5 November 2008

I went down to Manor Farm today with County Director Graham Noden so that we could see how the work was progressing and take some pictures for you to see.

The interior has been completely cleared of all the debris and clutter and has been made safe. Power has also been restored to the building so the builders can have their site lights on.

Exterior uPVC doors and windows have been ordered and will be fitted within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Once these have been fitted the flashing and soffits on the roof will be finished and the scaffolding taken down.

The new roof is almost complete, theres just one small section to complete which will be finished laster this week:

Stable Block Decorating:
22 October 2008

Whilst the structural work is going on on the house, the main stable block which houses Jim and the teams is also being worked on. The walls are having a new lick of paint to brighten it up as well as the stairs to the treatment room have been striped and sanded. The 'recereational' area where the lads play pool, relax and chat is currently having a make over.

Donations & Volunteers:
10 October 2008

Since we lanuched the appeal to raise funds and request volunteers to help out with the rennovation at Manor Farm we have had 7 donations and 16 offers of help from County fans.

All those that have offered their help and services should have received an email confirmation thanking them for their help. Once the main structural work has been completed on the house we will be calling in the volunteers to paint, plaster, wire, install, grout, fix, sand etc.

All volunteers will be contacted closer to the time to see if and when they can fit into the redeveloment schedule.

The Big Clear-up Begins:
25 September 2008

John Fitzpatrick and a team of volunteers started work on clearing the house earlier this week of all the debris left from the vandlism, damage and weathering. It will take a number of skips and a few more days to finish clearing the house but once done work can begin on the roof as well as starting to plan for the internal works.

Work has started:
12 September 2008

The security fencing and scaffolding is up and work has started on the main house at Manor Farm. The first job will be to clear the house and grounds and make sure it complies to health and safety regulations. Once clear, the big job of removing and replacing the roof will begin.

Thanks!:
1 September 2008

Thanks to everyone who has so far offered their time and skills to help out at Manor Farm. We will be collating all the details together to add them to the project plan. All volunteers will be contacted individually to thank them for volunteering and to inform them of how we plan to utilise their skills, knowledge and expertise.

We would also like to offer a huge thanks those that have been going up to Manor Farm on a regular basis since earlier this year to work on tidying, clearing and brightening up the training environment. County fan and local businessman John Fitzpatrick has been visiting Manor Farm with a team of dedicated supporters to start on turning Manor Farm into a training ground envied by many.
