Trust Communications:

Communication Should Work Both Ways

“Communicate: (V) to impart, to transmit; to make known; to succeed in conveying information.”

This is a dictionary definition of a very important word, one that the Trust Board has failed to live up to in the past. It is because of this that I have been given the responsibility to improve the communication between the Trust Board and the members. I would like to think that, with the publication and distribution of the Trust Talk newsletter, the recent re-design of this website and the very constructive Q&A session that the Board held with Trust member Simon Holt, I have already made some progress in my task.

I have also prepared a Communications Calendar, which enables Trust members, or anyone else who may be interested, to look up when functions and meetings are taking place and when the deadlines for Trust business occur.

We are trying to improve communication and getting our message across to you. The Trust Board does appreciate that we are still struggling to keep members who do not have access to the internet or email informed of what we are doing, but I believe that with regular newsletters being posted out, we are starting to get there.

The Trust Board has set up lines of communication for members and non-members to use, and I ask you all to make good use of these. None of us are mindreaders, we need to know what you want to know and what you want from the Trust Board, whether it be more meetings or more updates on the Trust website. We can’t do anything for you if you don’t ask.

If you have any suggestions as to how the channels of communication can be improved you can now contact me directly on comms@stockportcountytrust.com.

I’m looking forward to communicating with you all soon.
